F.A.Q.

Who should see a chiropractor?
Almost everyone can be successfully treated and benefit from chiropractic care. Adults, children, athletes, women during pregnancy, professionals, elderly, and anyone who needs their body to work as well as possible.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?
Also called a spinal manipulation, a chiropractic adjustment restores joint mobility and function by applying a controlled force into joints that have subluxed or have become restricted in their movement. A subluxation is a partial joint dislocation.

Can chiropractic help me?
You will be glad to know that safe, effective chiropractic care is the best proven treatment for your back and neck problems. And you will appreciate the fact that you won’t need prescription drugs or surgery. Chiropractic is the recommended treatment for back and neck pain according to exhaustive research by the Department of Health and Human Services (AHCPR).

Is my treatment safe?
Chiropractic has an enviable track record. Your treatment is one of the safest medical interventions possible. You are more likely to have a negative reaction to a prescription medication than to experience difficulty from your chiropractic care. Studies have shown that our patients realize high levels of success and satisfaction with their care.

What conditions can chiropractic care treat?
Chiropractic can successfully treat neck and back pain/stiffness, sports injuries, auto accidents, bursitis, headaches, muscular pain and/or spasms, sciatica, tendonitis, whiplash, pinched nerves, disc injuries, cold and flu, and many more.

Can children benefit from chiropractic care?
Yes! Children often have subluxation from the birth process and from the normal jumping, falling, and running of childhood. Chiropractic care successfully treats common childhood problems including headaches, ear infections, stomachaches, sore throats, ADD/ADHD, bed-wetting, scoliosis, asthma, and allergies.

Does insurance cover my chiropractic care?
Most insurance companies cover your treatment at our office, and you will be pleased to know that we do all the paperwork for you.

Is it bad to “crack” my neck or back a lot?
The desire to “crack” or “pop” your neck or back is caused by tension from a jammed of fixated vertebra. This may provide temporary relief, but it does not address the cause of the tension or the musculoskeletal problems.

SwankChiro Testimonials

Lower back pain from an exercising injury.

Dr. Swank has an excellent bedside manner. I came in with lower back pain from an exercising injury. I must say that in the 2 years that I have been going here I have never felt better. Another plus is all of the ladies in the office know you when you arrive and you are greeted as if you are family. They are very accommodating with scheduling and do there best to see you on the day you call. I recommended Dr. Swank to my family members and co-workers  you will not be disappointed.
